#EldarSociety Eldar Society: National Laws (iAxanórin)
I Axanórin (or the National Laws) are the rules that within the Eldar Nation must follow.
IAxanórin:
- Thou shall not suffer a half-elf to live.
- Our Gods saw fit that the parents, by reason of purity, shall also not be suffered to live.
- If the Courts issue summons the summonsed shall go. If the summonsed does not go, the Courts shall call witnesses, then only shall the Courts take in the summonsed by force. If the summonsed refuses or flees, the Courts shall arrest them.
- When a judgement has been pronounced in the Courts, 30 days must be the legitimate grace period. Thereafter, arrest of the convicted may be made by the laying on of hands.
- The inheritance of a Citizen is made over to the Nation, if the Citizen has died without testament will and has no natural successor.
- When a party shall make bond or conveyance what they have named by word of mouth shall hold good.
- Marriage by law: If two Elves live together continuously for a year, they are considered to be married
- If any Elf has sung or composed against another person a satire such as was causing slander or insult they shall be clubbed to death.
- If an Elf has maimed another's limb, let there be retaliation in kind, unless they agree to make compensation with each other.
- If a legal representative shall defraud their client, they must be solemnly forfeited (killed).
- Whoever is convicted of speaking false witness shall be flung from the cliffs below the Márin i Turenen (Palace of Government).
- No Elf shall hold meetings in Álfröðull at night.
- The penalty shall be capital punishment for a judge or member of the Devoted legally appointed to the Courts who has been found guilty of receiving a bribe for giving a decision.
- Putting to death of any Elf who has not been convicted, whosoever they might be, is forbidden.
- Marriage shall not take place between an Elf and a mortal.
- Whatever the Nation has last ordained shall be held as binding by law.
